Interested in acting? Looking to refine your skills if you already tread the boards? You need not be an experienced thespian to take this class! Mark your calendars for The Actors Craft presented by the Columbus Black International Film Festival, and taught by local actor and director Brian David Ellis. All are welcome.
Brian David Ellis is an actor, public speaker and screenwriter who has been featured in local independent films such as Dark Iris and St Gabriel. Brian has also appeared as a background actor in the academy award winning Shawshank Redemption. In addition to film work, Mr. Ellis has appeared in several commercials with The Ohio Lottery and Safe Auto.
In addition to his film work, Brian Ellis has over 34 years of Stage experience appearing in more than 30 theatrical productions. He studied Theatre at The Ohio State University and was privileged to have work privately with Pierre Astier to further his acting education. Mr. Ellis has also worked with the great Mime artist Marcel Marceau.
Because of this experience, Brian understands the key elements of stage movement and acting for the camera. He has taught acting classes at the Martin Luther King Center in Columbus, Ohio and to his credit, has written two stage plays. Brian is currently working on a screenplay.
