The 12th International Black Women’s Film Festival Presents SEEN: Modern Cinema + Black Women
We are proud to announce our community partnership with the The 12th International Black Women’s Film Festival! Please see below for more details.
Continuing the momentum of a year of sold-out screenings (which featured an exclusive West Coast premiere of HALF OF A YELLOW SUN starring Academy Award®-nominated actor Chiwetel Ejiofor and Thandie Newton), the International Black Women’s Film Festival presents new, modern cinema by and/or featuring Black women from around the world called “SEEN: MODERN CINEMA + BLACK WOMEN.”
The International Black Women’s Film Festival has been “moving images forward” for over 12 years, showing over 400 films from 20 countries and five continents. Black women are defying the odds in film by becoming film directors, actors and producers. The International Black Women’s Film Festival is showcasing the best films by and/or about Black women from around the world. Surprise guests, Q&A’s, celebrity appearances, filmmaker appearances, a gala opening and an online film festival.
